Let&#8217;s just say it is hard to recognize what we saw as being American football. The sport is complicated enough anyway and Elias doesn&#8217;t really have a firm grasp of the rules. Add to this the fact that his ability to communicate the rules to his friends is severely limited.  He tried his best with a mixture of hand signals, Portuguese, English and Mwinika to teach them the basics but I am afraid it didn&#8217;t quite get through. They did figure out that when they got to a certain area they were supposed to say something that resembled the word &#8220;touchdown&#8221; but they never figured out why they needed to say it.
