\"MOZ_Mwinika_137\"<\/a>After completing the main Bible teaching portions in mid-July we embarked on a program of teaching through the evangelistic sermons in the beginning part of Acts. Our goal was to help solidify their grasp of the Gospel message as well as show what the practical implications of being a believer are.<\/p>\n

Besides the obvious focus on wanting people to get saved, one of our prayers has been that, as the new believers study the Word of God, the Holy Spirit will prompt them to follow the practical examples of the early church. Specifically we have been praying that they will see the need to function corporately as believers. This has been one of the less overt themes that we have been discreetly emphasizing the last few months.<\/p>\n

This morning in our translation session we experienced a major breakthrough in this area. As we were discussing a point the translation helpers mentioned that the discussion was helpful to them and they wished other believers were present to benefit. That provided an opportunity to suggest that we have extra meetings apart from our normal weekly session designed specifically for believers. They loved the idea and we brainstormed about it all morning.<\/p>\n

In the end we decided to meet over the weekend with small groups of key believers to give them a heads-up and that after our normal weekly session on Monday (the 14th) we would meet to discuss how to implement this idea. This afternoon I and another translation helper met with a couple of other key believers, all of whom were very excited about the idea. One of the men said to me \u201cI have been meaning to come to you and complain. We have so much we need to be taught and once a week is not nearly enough to help us. This idea of meeting more often is a very good one. This is what we need.\u201d<\/p>\n

Please pray for this extremely important meeting on Monday afternoon. This will be a key meeting that will shape the way the believers interact with each other long into the future. It could also lead to heightened opposition. Despite that possibility, please PRAISE the Lord with us for the way that he is working amongst the new believers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
