We are pleased to announce that best-selling author Gracia Burnham will be the featured speaker July 28th at 7 p.m. at the Plymouth Congregational Church, 1325 Georgia Street in Oshkosh, WI. She will recount gripping stories from her 376 terrifying days of captivity at the hands of insurgent rebels in the Philippines. As a missionary with New Tribes Mission (NTM), Gracia will also join the team of NTM Aviation representatives at EAA AirVenture 2016, July 25-31.
Gracia and her husband, pilot Martin Burnham, quietly served God with NTM Aviation in the Philippines for 17 years. But in 2001, they were catapulted into world news when violent terrorists took them hostage. Martin and Gracia spent the next year in grueling jungle conditions until a rescue attempt left Martin dead and Gracia wounded.
Gracia has written two books, In the Presence of My Enemies and To Fly Again. A New York Times best-selling author, Gracia’s passion for missions shines through each time she speaks about her experiences, offering hope and encouragement to those suffering their own difficulties. As the founder and director of the Martin and Gracia Burnham Foundation, Gracia continues to minister through providing support to women behind veils, the persecuted church, tribal missions, and missionary aviation.
If you are in the Oshkosh area, we hope you can join Gracia at Plymouth Congregational on July 28th.
And do visit the NTM Aviation team and Gracia at booth 22 in the International Association of Mission Aviation (IAMA) tent on the AirVenture show grounds. There you can learn the latest in our effort to expand affordable flight service to western, national, and tribal missionaries working in remote areas of the world. NTM Aviation is currently adding an R66 helicopter in the Philippines where Martin and Gracia worked.
