The missionaries living with the Iski people are nearing the end of their time of culture and language study. So Tim (who is training to be a culture language acquisition consultant) went to evaluate them and provide feedback as to where they are at in their culture and language learning process. Tiffany and their children went along with Tim to be a blessing and encouraging to the families. As it turned out, both of the men were finished with their time of formal culture and language study, and their wives are right behind them. Their team will be spending the next few months working on figuring out the alphabet for their language, analyzing the grammar and discourse of a language, and preparing a literacy program. We are excited that another people group will be hearing God’s Word in the next few years!

Knowing how times of evaluation can cause nervousness and stress, I decided to send a little something to encourage the ladies. Last weekend, I made up a pan of chocolate peanut butter bars (it’s the perfect recipe for times like this when I’m nearly out of flour), and I crocheted hair scrunchies for the girls. Thanks Emily for sending hair ties! I love to crochet (and cross-stitch). So it was a fun weekend for me preparing the little gifts. I find that when I try to encourage someone else, God usually provides encouragement for me in the process.

So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.
