For at least 8 years, I have been praying for my future church-planting team & for the unreached people group with whom we would work. Many of you have been faithfully praying with me. Thank you for your steadfastness. Obviously, we didn’t know who we were praying for, but God did. And now, we do, too!
In the past few months, the Lord has opened the door for me to work with Dan & Sarah Alkire, Ron & Tasha Davis, Katie Moore, and Tom & Teresa Elkins among the people in Las Moras, Mexico. Here’s more info about my teammates.
The Nahuatl people are an unreached people group that have descended from the ancient Aztecs. They believe in a myriad of spirits that they must appease and manipulate in order to survive and thrive. There is no Bible in their language. There are no missionaries living with them and teaching them about God. They do not know about the free gift of salvation God offers us through Christ’s death or that we can have a relationship with God Himself. They are a lost people.
This summer, all of us on the Las Moras team are taking a few months to spend with our churches & friends & families. I will be spending June in Texas and July in Panama. I’m excited to see all of you in those areas. In August, I will be heading back to Mexico where we, as a team, will move one day’s drive closer to the tribe, and from there we will make trips into the tribe to begin building our houses and learning the Nahuatl language and culture.
Many of you have stood by me for many years in prayer for God to work. He has! And I’m excited to see what else He has in store! I would covet your continued prayers, for:
– That I would be completely dependent on Christ & not attempt anything in my own strength
– For my travels this summer – for safety & opportunities to renew & build relationships
– For our team – for unity as we bond together as a team & grow in our relationships with each other & with our Lord
– For finances for the building of our houses
This is not a lone-ranger job. It takes a team. Those of you who pray & give are a vital, integral part. This is YOUR ministry. Thanks for being a part & sharing this joy with me. I thank the Lord that I am not alone, but that you are by my side.
