It’s that time of year again

June 15, 2013 by Rachel Chapman

It’s that time of year again that we look forward to with such anticipation.  It’s RAINY SEASON in Las Moras.  It is a time of abundance, of lots of rain and plenty of water.  Flowers grow, gardens grow, everything becomes green again.

I'm looking forward to planting my garden again and enjoying beautiful flowers and the fresh veggies!

It’s that time of year again when we load up 5 months worth of supplies and head into the mountains planning to be “stuck” there until the rains stop and the road dries out enough to be passable.

Tom & Pete helped a neighbor get through a particularly muddy patch of the road after rainy season last year.

It’s that time of year again when it’s more evident that we live in total dependence on God for physical protection and provision.  We are “stuck” because of deteriorated roads and landslides in our very remote village.

It’s that time of year again when we get no visitors and we don’t go down to the coast, so we have 5 months of pure language study and relationship building opportunities.  Last year we made great progress throughout the rainy season months.

Please pray for us over the next few months:

– for INTERNET – our satellite internet connection stopped working right before we came down to the coast (IF WE DON’T GET IT WORKING, YOU WON’T HEAR FROM ME UNTIL NOVEMBER, PROBABLY.)

– for health & physical safety

– for diligence in studying Nahuatl and understanding as we focus on some advanced areas of the language

– that God would draw the Nahuatl to Himself
