What did you say?<\/em>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>I thought, &#8220;Oh no, I&#8217;m not communicating.&#8221;\u00a0 So, I said, &#8220;<em>What I just said, what did it mean?<\/em>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>She replied in Spanish, &#8220;<em>You said, &#8216;Do you want to lay&#8217; you know, like a chicken lays an egg.<\/em>&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Everyone in the room laughed and I learned to proper way to say, &#8220;Do you want to weave again?&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>One of my Nahuatl friends knows how to weave well.\u00a0 A while ago, she wove several bags for us from yarn that we had provided her.\u00a0 She did a good job and I had been meaning to ask her if she wanted to weave another bag.
