After hundreds of hours of studying Nahuatl, listening to recordings, analyzing verbs, checking & double checking meanings & spelling, Katie Moore and I recently tested into Level 9 (of 12) in the method that our organization uses to test our fluency.\u00a0 We tested at Level 9 Low, so we\u2019ll continue to study, and analyze, and listen, etc, but we\u2019re also now embarking on a new phase of ministry.<\/p>\n

Katie is trying out her literacy program on her language helper, Andrea, and her little boys.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Katie is working hard preparing a literacy course to teach the people here how to read and write in their language and also some Spanish.\u00a0 It\u2019s a lot of work!\u00a0 She\u2019s creating a set of primers with graded readers for each primer and working on reading material once the people are literate.<\/p>\n

The woodpecker scares the little one. The little one was crying. The little one throws (a rock) at the woodpecker. The woodpecker hides inside the pine tree.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

I am also working on reading materials.\u00a0 I am beginning to learn the process of Bible translation.\u00a0 My translation helper and I just finished studying and transferring Jonah chapter 1 into Nahuatl.\u00a0 I need to check it to make sure it\u2019s accurate to the original, then send it to my consultant for checking.\u00a0 He\u2019s giving me on-the-job training.<\/p>\n
