(Gen. 6:13)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prerequisite to pleasing God is believing Him. <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Hebrews 11:6  (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/biblehub.com\/hebrews\/11-6.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Hebrews 11:6<\/a> A prerequisite to believing God is hearing His Word. Before people can hear God&#8217;s word someone who has heard must speak it. Before someone can speak His Word, especially in distant places, a messenger must be sent from those people who have heard to those who have not. <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Romans 10:13-17 (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/biblehub.com\/romans\/10-14.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Romans 10:13-17<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Bible is full, from beginning to end, with God&#8217;s mission concerning mankind. God\u2019s mission is the reason the Church is still on earth. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-color has-text-align-center has-medium-font-size has-clay-color wp-block-paragraph\"><em><strong>Knowing the mission: What is God doing?<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cMissions\u201d is about the Church discovering and engaging in God&#8217;s mission. So, <strong>Why Missions?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>God\u2019s identity<\/strong> &#8211; <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Job 38 (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/biblehub.com\/job\/38.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Job 38<\/a>, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Isaiah 40 (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/biblehub.com\/isaiah\/40.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Isaiah 40<\/a> &#8211; As the all-powerful God who spoke everything into existence, stretched out the heavens and laid the foundations of the earth, God, our Designer, Creator, and Owner, possesses the right, the power, the authority, and the expectation that His creation and His created beings should function within His designed purpose and plan. He is worthy. Knowing His identity is enough reason to engage in His mission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>God\u2019s character<\/strong> &#8211; <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Exodus 34:5-10 (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/biblehub.com\/exodus\/34.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Exodus 34:5-10<\/a> &#8211; God is good. His goodness, lovingkindness, mercy, righteousness, justice, and grace demand that we be like Him and extend His goodness to all people everywhere. That which is not good must be judged and punished as a necessary part of His goodness. In His goodness, He has paid the penalty through Christ and given the keys to His kingdom to His ambassadors, who have been commanded to tell everyone. Embracing the goodness of His character is reason enough to engage in His mission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>God\u2019s plan<\/strong> &#8211; <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"1Timothy 2:3-4 (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/biblehub.com\/1_timothy\/2.htm\" target=\"_blank\">1Timothy 2:3-4<\/a> &#8211; Since before Creation God has planned to fill the earth with people who believe Him. His plan has not been thwarted and will be accomplished. (Genesis <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"1:28 (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/biblehub.com\/genesis\/1-28.htm\" target=\"_blank\">1:28<\/a>, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"6:13 (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/biblehub.com\/genesis\/6-13.htm\" target=\"_blank\">6:13<\/a>, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"9:1 (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/biblehub.com\/genesis\/9-1.htm\" target=\"_blank\">9:1<\/a>) We are part of His plan and that is reason enough to willingly engage in His mission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>God\u2019s purpose<\/strong> &#8211; God&#8217;s purpose was and is that all people should know Him, walk with Him, and reflect back to Him the glory that is due to Him. Walking with Him includes living with Him in right relationship, in fellowship, in joyous harmony, and with all people through trusting in the finished work of Christ. His designed purpose, His glory, is reason enough to engage in His mission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>God&#8217;s Word <\/strong>&#8211; <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Isaiah 55:11 (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/biblehub.com\/isaiah\/55-11.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Isaiah 55:11<\/a> &#8211; What God has said will actually happen. He has shown us that people from every tongue, language, tribe, nation, people group, and ethnic group will be among those <a href=\"https:\/\/biblehub.com\/revelation\/5-9.htm\">redeemed<\/a> by the blood of the Lamb. He has told us what happened in the past, has given us everything we need to live in the present, and revealed enough of His plan for the future to fully enter into it with confidence. His Word is reliable. His Word is reason enough to engage in His mission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>God\u2019s method <\/strong>&#8211; <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Romans 10:13-17 (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/biblehub.com\/romans\/10-13.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Romans 10:13-17<\/a> &#8211; God&#8217;s usual means of communication throughout human history has been through those who have come to know Him telling those who have not heard; so that they may believe, trust and obey Him. God&#8217;s usual method of delivering His message is through a personal courier. Us. See 2 Corinthians 3, 4, &amp; 5. <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"2Corinthians 5:18-20 (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/biblehub.com\/2_corinthians\/5.htm\" target=\"_blank\">2Corinthians 5:18-20<\/a> His method is reason enough to engage in His mission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>God\u2019s heart<\/strong> &#8211;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" 2 Peter 3:9 (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/biblehub.com\/2_corinthians\/5.htm\" target=\"_blank\"> 2 Peter 3:9<\/a> &#8211; He is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Psalm 67  (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/biblehub.com\/psalms\/67.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Psalm 67<\/a> His heart for us and others is reason enough to fully engage in His mission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>God\u2019s command<\/strong> &#8211; <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"1 Corinthians 15:34  (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/biblehub.com\/1_corinthians\/15-34.htm\" target=\"_blank\">1 Corinthians 15:34 <\/a>\u201c<em>Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.<\/em>\u201d His command is reason enough to engage in His mission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>God\u2019s commission<\/strong> &#8211; <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Mark 16:15 (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/biblehub.com\/mark\/16-15.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Mark 16:15<\/a> &#8211; Go ye into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature. <a href=\"https:\/\/biblehub.com\/2_corinthians\/5-19.htm\">2 Corinthians 5:17-20<\/a>. His commission is reason enough to engage in His mission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>God\u2019s kingdom<\/strong> &#8211; <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Matthew 24:14 (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/biblehub.com\/matthew\/24-14.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Matthew 24:14<\/a> &#8211; This topic of the kingdom was so important that over the next forty days after His resurrection Jesus continued to engage them; to reassure them that He really is alive, and to ensure that they really caught what was on His heart: The Kingdom. <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Acts 1:3 (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/biblehub.com\/acts\/1-3.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Acts 1:3<\/a>. Wouldn\u2019t it be nice to know what He told His disciples? We do know! They wrote books and they told other people who wrote books: Matthew, John, Peter, James, Jude, Mark, Luke, and Paul. &#8211; His kingdom is reason enough to engage in His mission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>God\u2019s rewards <\/strong>&#8211; <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Matthew 6:20 (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/biblehub.com\/matthew\/6-20.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Matthew 6:20<\/a> &#8211; The heavenly layaway plan. Lay up treasure for yourselves in heaven. Good deeds and other people are all that we can take with us. Heavenly treasures are reason enough to engage in His mission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>God\u2019s priorities<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013&nbsp;<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/biblehub.com\/matthew\/6-33.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Matthew 6:33<\/a>&nbsp;\u2013 Some things are more important than others. Jesus told His disciples to seek God\u2019s kingdom first. God\u2019s priorities are reason enough to engage in His mission. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>God\u2019s accountability<\/strong> &#8211; <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"2 Cor. 5:10-11 (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/biblehub.com\/2_corinthians\/5-10.htm\" target=\"_blank\">2 Cor. 5:10-11<\/a>,&nbsp;Revelation 20:11-15.  &#8211; We will each give an account of what we have done. \u201c<em>Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men&#8230;<\/em>\u201d Our day of accountability is reason enough to engage in His mission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>God&#8217;s wrath<\/strong> &#8211; <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Romans 1:18 (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/biblehub.com\/romans\/1-18.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Romans 1:18<\/a> &#8211; Every person should seek to avoid it live in such a way as to help others avoid God&#8217;s wrath by believing Him. &#8211; See <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Hebrews 10 (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/biblehub.com\/hebrews\/10-31.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Hebrews 10<\/a>. God&#8217;s wrath is reason enough to engage in His mission. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>God\u2019s grace<\/strong> &#8211; <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Ephesians 2:8-9 (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/biblehub.com\/ephesians\/2-8.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Ephesians 2:8-9<\/a> &#8211; God&#8217;s unmerited favor is a gift. It is beneficial to anyone who receives it. We received it because someone else cared to tell us about Him. The grace we have received is ours to share. We are God&#8217;s delivery service. God&#8217;s grace is reason enough to engage in His mission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>God\u2019s mercy<\/strong> &#8211; <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Titus 3:4-5 (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/biblehub.com\/titus\/3-4.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Titus 3:4-5<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/biblehub.com\/titus\/3-4.htm\"> <\/a>&#8211; Because He has been merciful to us, we should extend His mercy to others. God extended His mercy to us through someone who told us about Him. Through our faith and obedience, He will extend it to others. God&#8217;s mercy is reason enough to engage in His mission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>God\u2019s love<\/strong> &#8211; <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"2 Corinthians 5:14-15 (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/biblehub.com\/2_corinthians\/5-14.htm\" target=\"_blank\">2 Corinthians 5:14-15<\/a> &#8211; The love of Christ compels us. &#8211; God&#8217;s love compels us that we should no longer live for ourselves but for Him. God\u2019s love for the world, God\u2019s love for us, our love for God, and God\u2019s love through us to the world are reason enough to engage in His mission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>God\u2019s preparation<\/strong> &#8211; <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Ephesians 2:10 (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/biblehub.com\/ephesians\/2-10.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Ephesians 2:10<\/a> &#8211; God has prepared good works in advance for us to do. &#8211; God\u2019s preparations are reason enough to engage in His mission and those good works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>God&#8217;s promise to Abraham<\/strong> &#8211; <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Genesis 12:3 (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/biblehub.com\/genesis\/12-3.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Genesis 12:3<\/a> &#8211; Through Abraham all the families of the earth will be blessed. He was blessed to be a blessing. His promise to Abraham, fulfilled in Christ and extended through us to every family, is reason enough to engage in His mission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>God&#8217;s Abrahamic promise through the Church<\/strong> &#8211; <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Galatians 3:7-9 (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/biblehub.com\/galatians\/3.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Galatians 3:7-9<\/a> &#8211; By faith (believing God), we are the spiritual seed of Abraham. In Christ alone all the families of the earth are and will be blessed. We are blessed to be a blessing just as Abraham was. By means of the proclamation of His glory through believers, all of the families of the earth are to be blessed. We are blessed to engage in God\u2019s mission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Christ\u2019s suffering<\/strong> &#8211; <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Galatians 2:20 (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/biblehub.com\/galatians\/2-20.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Galatians 2:20<\/a>, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Matthew 16:24 (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/biblehub.com\/matthew\/16-24.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Matthew 16:24<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/biblehub.com\/like\/9-23.htm\">Luke 9:23<\/a>, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Colossians 1:24 (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/biblehub.com\/colossians\/1-24.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Colossians 1:24<\/a>, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Philippians 3:10 (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/biblehub.com\/philippians\/3-10.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Philippians 3:10<\/a>, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Luke 14-27 (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/biblehub.com\/luke\/14-27.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Luke 14-27<\/a>. Christ\u2019s sufferings<em> <\/em>are offered in-person to those for whom Christ died through the sacrificial living, word, and testimony of those who have believed already. Doing that requires that we adopt His values regarding people.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>God&#8217;s Son<\/strong> told us to <a href=\"https:\/\/biblehub.com\/matthew\/22-39.htm\">love our neighbors<\/a> as ourselves. How can we love them without telling them about Him? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>God&#8217;s Son<\/strong> told His disciples to<a href=\"https:\/\/biblehub.com\/john\/4-35.htm\"> lift up their eyes <\/a>and <a href=\"https:\/\/biblehub.com\/john\/4-35.htm\">look at the fields<\/a> because they are ready for harvest. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>God&#8217;s Son<\/strong> told His followers to <a href=\"https:\/\/biblehub.com\/matthew\/9-38.htm\">pray for laborers<\/a>&#8230; just before He <a href=\"https:\/\/biblehub.com\/matthew\/10.htm\">sent <\/a>those same praying disciples to go to work in those fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>God&#8217;s Son<\/strong> said, &#8220;As the father has sent me, so send I you.&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/biblehub.com\/john\/20-21.htm\">John 20:21<\/a> And that was after He told them that they were the <a href=\"https:\/\/biblehub.com\/matthew\/5-14.htm\">light <\/a>of the world and have the keys to the Kingdom. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>God&#8217;s Son<\/strong> stayed around for forty days after His resurrection to ensure that His disciples understood their task. <a href=\"https:\/\/biblehub.com\/acts\/1-3.htm\">Acts 1:3<\/a> It&#8217;s a good thing that they wrote books so that we could understand it, too!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Why Missions?<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Because God&#8217;s mission is to bring people into fellowship with Him.<\/li><li>Because the <a href=\"https:\/\/biblehub.com\/hebrews\/4-12.htm\">word of God<\/a> that He has already spoken is enough information for any living person to act with complete abandon toward obedience. <\/li><li>Because has already given us everything that we need. (<a href=\"https:\/\/biblehub.com\/2_peter\/1.htm\">2 Peter 1:3-10<\/a>)<\/li><li>Because no more revelation is needed or necessary to actively engage in what He is doing. <\/li><li>Because missions is taking the next step in walking with Him in what He is doing to bring people in remotes places into fellowship with Him. <\/li><li>Because people of many languages will not hear the message of God&#8217;s grace unless one of us who has heard it is sent to tell them in a language they understand. <\/li><li>Because the goal is not evangelism, but disciples of Christ who are able to disciple others.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\">A Thriving Church for Every People<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-wordpress wp-block-embed is-type-wp-embed is-provider-accesstruth\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\nhttps:\/\/accesstruth.com\/lftf-episode-4\/\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/accesstruth.com\/lftf-episode-4\/\">&#8220;What&#8217;s required?
