{"id":657,"date":"2011-11-21T23:13:18","date_gmt":"2011-11-22T03:13:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/randy-steel\/?p=657"},"modified":"2011-11-21T23:18:10","modified_gmt":"2011-11-22T03:18:10","slug":"stages-of-ministry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/randy-steel\/2011\/11\/21\/stages-of-ministry\/","title":{"rendered":"Stages of ministry&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>It is amazing the work  we see the Lord doing in lives here in Paraguay&#8230; tribal believers, local  churches, and missionaries as well.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em> <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"width: 150px;float: left;height: 103px;margin-left: 10px;margin-right: 10px\" src=\"http:\/\/gallery.mailchimp.com\/ce936cd1526f2f60ca277affb\/files\/Luci_e2_event1.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"103\" align=\"left\" \/>On Oct. 14th we held a get together to thank the pastors  and brethren the 10 churches that are currently partnering with us in preparing  new missionaries for future ministry among the tribal people of Paraguay. \u00a0Each  missionary personally introduced those who came from their church and thanked  them for the help they\u2019ve given. The churches were also updated on where NTM  Paraguay is currently working, what is happening in those works, and presented  anew with the areas we hope to go into in the future.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em> <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Thinking of the  work here, let me give you a brief look at what is happening in some of the  various stages of ministry here in Paraguay&#8230; areas of ministry we&#8217;re preparing  missionaries for.\u00a0 Let&#8217;s\u00a0 get a glimpse at <strong><span style=\"color: #006400\">Arrival<\/span><\/strong>, <strong><span style=\"color: #006400\">Equipping<\/span><\/strong>, <strong><span style=\"color: #006400\">Exposure<\/span><\/strong>, <strong><span style=\"color: #006400\">Preparation<\/span><\/strong>, <strong><span style=\"color: #006400\">Fruit<\/span><\/strong>, and ultimately&#8230; <\/em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"color: #006400\"><strong>Hope<\/strong><\/span><\/span><em> .<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><!--more--><\/em><\/p>\n<p class=\"image\"><span style=\"color: #004c00\"><strong>Arrival&#8230;<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"image\"><span style=\"font-family: tahoma,geneva,sans-serif\"><a title=\"http:\/\/ntm.us1.list-manage2.com\/track\/click?u=ce936cd1526f2f60ca277affb&amp;id=e9a2a7fca3&amp;e=75056f8a08\" href=\"http:\/\/ntm.us1.list-manage2.com\/track\/click?u=ce936cd1526f2f60ca277affb&amp;id=e9a2a7fca3&amp;e=75056f8a08\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"a\" style=\"width: 121px;float: left;height: 80px;margin-left: 20px;margin-right: 20px\" src=\"http:\/\/usa.ntm.org\/images\/sized\/files\/field-news\/field-news-different-is-the-new-normal-190x125.jpg\" alt=\"Jon and Jen Quast photo\" width=\"121\" height=\"80\" align=\"left\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff\"><strong>\u2018Different  is the new normal\u2019<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Jon and Jen Quast, newly  arrived in Paraguay, have moved into the next phase of their adventure in  ministry.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHaving come to the end  of the stage known as Field Orientation,\u201d they wrote, \u201cwe have begun the process  of National Culture and Language Acquisition (a phrase that reminds me of  Captain Barbosa [of the <em>Pirates of the Caribbean<\/em> movies] when he says  \u2018There are a lot of long words in there, Miss. We&#8217;re naught but  humble pirates.\u2019).<\/p>\n<p class=\"image\">The people  are loving and the country is wonderful, but they are different. Not wrong, just  different. And <em>different is the new normal<\/em>.\u201d<strong> <span style=\"font-size: 12px\"><a title=\"Different is the new normal\" studying the Spanish language and Paraguay\u2019s culture as a series of  choices.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMany  times, I find myself culturally lost at what to do next \u2013 do I turn left or  right?\u201d she wrote. \u201cI have opportunities to bless or offend, to speak or to  listen, to watch and to be watched.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Recently Carrie had her first  language evaluation and now know what areas ministry<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #cc9900\">Ayore: <\/span><\/strong>Missionaries Elijah and Moira Hall are  studying culture and language in Paraguay in preparation for beginning a church  planting ministry.<\/p>\n<p>Recently they were able  to travel to western Paraguay and visit three different tribal works in various  stages of ministry.<\/p>\n<p>A visit to an Ayor\u00e9  church service touched their hearts and demonstrated clearly God\u2019s transforming  power. <span style=\"color: #800000\"><span style=\"font-size: 12px\"><span style=\"font-family: the language ladder<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #cc9900\">Nivacle:<\/span><\/strong> For Jamie and Char Hunt, progress  recently has had its own soundtrack, with crashes, clanks and clunks and beepity  beeps.<\/p>\n<p>After a year and a half of study, Jamie and Char are now at the  bottom of the capable level. Before they can begin translating Bible passages  and preparing lessons for Firm Foundations Bible teaching, they must reach the  top of the capable level. \u201cOne key &#8230; will be figuring out the complicated verb  structure,&#8221; they wrote. &#8220;With an estimated 80 different ways to conjugate  each verb, this will be no easy task.\u201d <span style=\"color: #800000\"><span style=\"font-size: 12px\"><span style=\"line-height: 150%\"> <strong>(<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><strong><span style=\"font-size: 12px\"><span style=\"line-height: 150%\"><a title=\"http:\/\/ntm.us1.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=ce936cd1526f2f60ca277affb&amp;id=155aae067d&amp;e=75056f8a08 http:\/\/ntm.us1.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=4f2a29f01adc525f091b8d830&amp;id=a97bdda84b&amp;e=7175bf1c86\" href=\"http:\/\/ntm.us1.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=ce936cd1526f2f60ca277affb&amp;id=155aae067d&amp;e=75056f8a08\"><span style=\"color: #800000\" title=\"http:\/\/ntm.us1.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=ce936cd1526f2f60ca277affb&amp;id=155aae067d&amp;e=75056f8a08\">Read  More&#8230;<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #800000\">)<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #004c00\">&#8230;Fruit&#8230;<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"text-align: right;width: 121px;float: left;height: 91px;margin-left: 20px;margin-right: 20px\" src=\"http:\/\/gallery.mailchimp.com\/ce936cd1526f2f60ca277affb\/files\/Laweyin2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"121\" height=\"91\" align=\"left\" \/><\/div>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Spiritual eyes opened <\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #cc9900\">Ma<span style=\"color: #cc9900\">njui<\/span><\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #cc9900\"><strong>: <\/strong> <\/span>Laweyin is a  very independent blind man whom God used fire ants to convince him of his need  for salvation.\u00a0 One night he simply couldn&#8217;t find a place away from these ants  to sleep so he had to climb up a tree.\u00a0 While in the tree he began to understand  the message that had been told to him regarding his sin and his inability to  save himself from the punishment for sin.<\/p>\n<p>As God continues to mature  believers with His Truth, we have the privilege of seeing evidence of this in  village life.\u00a0 Alcohol abuse is still a struggle but different ones are taking a  stand against this.\u00a0\u00a0 Some in the tribe offered to pay Miino to bring them back  alcohol during a supply trip to town.\u00a0 Miino&#8217;s answer was that he could not do  this because the Holy Spirit would not allow him.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #004c00\">&#8230;and <em>HOPE<\/em>.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" style=\"text-align: center;width: 100px;float: left;height: 92px;margin-left: 20px;margin-right: 20px\" src=\"http:\/\/gallery.mailchimp.com\/ce936cd1526f2f60ca277affb\/files\/Meyin.JPG\" alt=\"\" width=\"100\" height=\"92\" align=\"left\" \/><\/div>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">Precious in His  sight<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #cc9900\">Manjui: <\/span><\/strong> Meyin was a  faithful\u00a0servant in the Manjui church who went to be with the Lord last week.\u00a0  His testimony was a shock to the unbelievers, yet a joy to the rest of the  church.\u00a0 We are unsure as to why he passed away so suddenly but we know he will  always be remembered for his last words as he passed into eternity.\u00a0 A number of  shamans had come to attempt to heal him by their chanting.\u00a0 But Meyin said to  them,\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<strong><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff\"> &#8220;I know I am going to God&#8217;s place now.\u00a0 Satan and his  demons can&#8217;t change God&#8217;s timing which He set for me long ago, so please don&#8217;t  chant over me.&#8221;
