\n#1 Macon goes to Papua New Guinea<\/p>\n
Macon (my boss) and Dale (photographer) are on a trip in Papua New Guinea,
\ntaking photos and doing some video interviews.\u00a0 Please pray that they will
\nget great stories, photo and video that we can use. (Dale took the photo
\nabove, of a woman reading in the Siawi tribe.)<\/p>\n
#2 Regina goes to New Jersey<\/p>\n
I’ll be visiting family and supporters this weekend in New Jersey.\u00a0 Please
\npray that I can be a blessing and be encouraged by the visit.\u00a0 I am looking
\nforward to connecting with the women there.<\/p>\n
#3 Screenwriting class
\nI’m planning to take a class on writing a short screenplay this fall at UCF, but the class I want to take is full.\u00a0 Please pray that a seat will open up or that God will direct me to another class.\u00a0 The purpose is for on-going education.<\/p>\n
#4 Siar tribe: Test Run with Toiya<\/p>\n
After hearing the first evangelistic lesson, Toiya was unusually quiet.
\nThat lesson asks a lot of questions about worldview and life to get him
\nthinking, and Toiya said he really didn’t know the answers. He said the
\nlesson was really clear, and he had never heard anything about God before
\nthat was clear.\u00a0 After the other 3 lessons, Toiya was talking with he friend
\nSali and really thinking about things.\u00a0\u00a0 He said, “I don’t want to be a man
\nof fear.” He expressed a desire to know the truth so he does not have to be
\nafraid anymore.\u00a0 The missionaries were stoked. Lane Sanford wrote: “We saw
\nGod’s word doing its work.\u00a0 It was amazing to experience.”<\/p>\n
The missionaries are going to meet with Toiya one on one to go through the
\n70 lessons before the formal teaching in the village begins this July.
\nThings like creation, sin, substitution, the nation of Israel, sheep and
\nother Bible characters are totally new concepts for most tribal people.\u00a0 It
\ntakes\u00a0 time to explain, just like someone who learns algebra starts by
\nlearning numbers, adding, subtracting and fractions.<\/p>\n
Please pray for Toiya and the other Siar people as they begin learning about
\nGod and studying His word for the next several months.<\/p>\n
