Back in 2008 in the Moi tribe, we filmed a few testimonies of the believers. \u00a0When we asked Paiye what Jesus meant to him, or how Jesus had changed his life, he recounted for us the story of the crucifixion.<\/p>\n
That footage was sitting aside for a while in my Final Cut editing program, and every Easter would go by that I thought, “Oh, we need to finish this project!”, but there was always something else more pressing. \u00a0I also had to deal with how to remove some footage that does not meet our modesty standards – garbage mat? blur? replacing the background? \u00a0None of those things were working, until I finally realized I can just cut that part out completely. \u00a0So you see one fade in the video. \u00a0Fortunately, we did not have to cut out anything Paiye said as the subtitles fit over the next words he said. \u00a0I really like having one long take for the authenticity of it.<\/p>\n
Finally, I blocked it out last year and finished editing it in time for Easter!
