{"id":532,"date":"2013-09-05T15:11:46","date_gmt":"2013-09-05T19:11:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/regina-sullivan\/?p=532"},"modified":"2013-09-09T15:35:51","modified_gmt":"2013-09-09T19:35:51","slug":"filming-linda","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/regina-rodman\/2013\/09\/05\/filming-linda\/","title":{"rendered":"Filming Linda"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure id=\"attachment_534\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-534\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/regina-sullivan\/files\/2013\/09\/filming-linda.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-534 \" title=\"filming-linda\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/regina-sullivan\/files\/2013\/09\/filming-linda-300x176.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"176\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/regina-rodman\/files\/2013\/09\/filming-linda-300x176.png 300w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/regina-rodman\/files\/2013\/09\/filming-linda-1024x601.png 1024w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/regina-rodman\/files\/2013\/09\/filming-linda-500x293.png 500w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/regina-rodman\/files\/2013\/09\/filming-linda.png 2034w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-534\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Linda Krieg, Bible translator <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>This morning I gathered some blankets for helping the sound on the floor, got a new itty-bitty screw from computer services to hold our audio equipment together, printed out a bunch of Siawi photos for the film shoot, and wrote-up a call sheet (complete with sunrise and sunset times) as well as picking up five Siawi New Testaments from Jon Frazier on our press floor to give to Linda.<\/p>\n<p>Today, Dale Stroud &#8211; our trusty cinematographer, and Joel Potter &#8211; our fearless how-does-he-keep-from-going-crazy-with-so-many-projects project manager, and myself &#8211; audio recorder\/editor\/other-jobs-as-needed set off to film Linda Krieg, who now lives at NTM Homes.<\/p>\n<p>Linda has been working among the Siawi people for 27 years and has just come back from Papua New Guinea after a Bible dedication. \u00a0Who will replace her to reach the next people group?<\/p>\n<p>Casey Short &#8211; marketer extraordinaire from Q5 worked with our Editor-in-Chief and writing guru, Ian Fallis created the outline aka &#8220;storyarc&#8221; for the video. \u00a0Matthias Muller was onsite over in PNG to film video of their Bible dedication. \u00a0The video is geared to help to raise funds for New Tribes Bible Institute, where new missionaries are in training.<\/p>\n<p>In the interview with Linda Krieg, the main translator, we saw some of the difficulty in planting a church among the Siawi, while for 15 years they waited as baby believers with no-one to teach them. \u00a0Finally two missionary families were able to learn the language well enough to be able to teach the believers and establish a mature church lead by the elders.<\/p>\n<p>Next week we&#8217;ll be filming missionary Ron Lindsay about his journey time with the Siawi people in the early days, when he first presented the gospel. \u00a0He is now the President of New Tribes Bible Institute in Wisconsin, and was also able to attend the dedication in Papua New Guinea.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m looking forward to see how Ron&#8217;s interview and video shoot goes with Dale and Joel. Lordwilling, I&#8217;ll also be able to do some partnership development in Wisconsin while I&#8217;m there.
