{"id":570,"date":"2013-10-07T10:47:37","date_gmt":"2013-10-07T14:47:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/regina-sullivan\/?p=570"},"modified":"2013-10-07T11:19:03","modified_gmt":"2013-10-07T15:19:03","slug":"global-outreach-conference","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/regina-rodman\/2013\/10\/07\/global-outreach-conference\/","title":{"rendered":"Global Outreach Conference"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It was so wonderful to visit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.skifflakebible.org\/\">my sending church<\/a>\u00a0and participate as one of the missionaries at their Global Outreach conference in September.<\/p>\n<p>First, I praise the Lord that I was able to make it there. \u00a0After landing in Baltimore to change planes, a lightening storm came up that struck the tower! \u00a0In other words, after waiting a while on the plane, my flight was canceled. \u00a0I was #3 standby for the only other flight that night, standby for the morning and only guaranteed a seat by the next afternoon. \u00a0I wasn&#8217;t sure if I&#8217;d be able to make it to the Friday night mixer with the elders and missions team, but hopeful as I had left time for travel delays by leaving Thursday. \u00a0Trusting the Lord to provide. \u00a0 After that 9-hour layover, I know why people love one-way tickets! \u00a0I did make it out that Thursday night, after they found a crew for the flight. =)<\/p>\n<p>Friday night was great to visit with the leadership.<\/p>\n<p>Saturday morning I shared with the ladies and enjoyed hearing Michelle Shinabery&#8217;s testimony.<\/p>\n<p>It was also neat to hear from Abby about CRU. \u00a0So neat to hear about some of the new ways of reaching out to this generation with <a href=\"http:\/\/crupress.com\/products\/soularium\/\">visual cards.<\/a> \u00a0You show about 50 cards and ask a few questions &#8212; it makes it easy to jump into conversation and gives a visual connection. \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/crupress.com\/products\/soularium\/\">Soularium<\/a> is a survey tool they use on campus to see what people are thinking.<\/p>\n<p>Another one is <a href=\"http:\/\/crupress.com\/products\/perspective-cards\/\">perspective cards<\/a>. These cards you can use to help guide spiritual discussion with people by finding out what they think truth comes from, what they think God is like etc. \u00a0It is like a multiple choice. \u00a0Just some neat tools people are using to reach campuses.<\/p>\n<p>We also enjoyed hearing from Ron Blue about the Great Commission.<\/p>\n<p>The sharing times went well. \u00a0I was concerned about &#8211; did I choose the right things to share? &#8211; and was encouraged by a couple ladies that said they really appreciated what I shared and feel like they understand my ministry more now.<\/p>\n<p>The last session I was able to introduce various team members on communications &#8211; hopefully I can do a few blog posts about my co-workers too in the coming days!<\/p>\n<p>Thanks for praying &#8211; the conference went great.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It was so wonderful to visit my sending church\u00a0and participate as one of the missionaries at their Global Outreach conference in September.
