We finally had the long awaited (so it seems) appointment with Suzie’s rheumatologist. After spending 3 hours in the infusion room watching the bag hanging on the hook slowly empty out into Suzie’s little veins Dr. Adams poked her head into our room to take a look at how Suzie was doing. After listening to us explain how we felt the month had gone and then doing a complete evaluation on her joints Dr. Adams made the decision to change her medication for next month. We will be returning to the U of M on the 31st of May to meet with her and her nurse to learn how to give Suzie the new medicine which will require her to have a daily shot. After coming to this hard decision I made a comment to Dr. Adams about how high Suzie’s pain tolerance is and the fact that she even seems to be able to adjust to the higher level and she made a statement that will stick in my mind for a long time to come. She said, “I believe we have taken advantage of that high pain tolerence for too long now”!
Rich and I are both very happy that we are moving on to a new drug as it has seemed that Suzie body has started to build up an immunity to the other drug. After 2 yrs and 4 months on this last drug I guess it is understandable. We continue to be amazed at how God designed our bodies to function and all it takes to make them function correctly!
Thanks for your prayers for us, Suzie and Dr. Adams! Once again we have been amazed to see God working out the details of our lives and the wisdom that He alone can give!
Please continue to pray for us here @ NTBI as we labor for Him in this incredible job of preparing the next generation of believers to evangilize all around the world! What an awsome priviledge it truly is.
