{"id":1074,"date":"2011-09-09T22:56:27","date_gmt":"2011-09-10T03:56:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/rick-zook\/?p=1074"},"modified":"2011-09-09T22:58:31","modified_gmt":"2011-09-10T03:58:31","slug":"precious-word-of-life","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/rick-zook\/2011\/09\/09\/precious-word-of-life\/","title":{"rendered":"Precious Word of Life"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When you are thirsty, you get water to drink.\u00a0 Recently we went almost 8 weeks without measurable rain.\u00a0 Fortunately we still had some in the tanks.\u00a0 But what if there was no water?\u00a0 What if you saw others readily able to get a drink, but you could not?\u00a0 In many ways we westerners are like people who when we are thirsty for God&#8217;s word, we can turn to the scriptures at any time.\u00a0 I look around at tribes around us where there is no Bible, no living water for them to drink from.\u00a0 They are the Kove and the Anem peoples.\u00a0 Currently our tribe, the Lusi are in that same camp.<\/p>\n<p>However, we are making progress.\u00a0 So far we have 2% of the Old Testament or 35% of the book of Genesis translated and awaiting checking.\u00a0 It is a small step, but very worth it.\u00a0 The Lusi people helping us with the translation have told us that they are excited to see God&#8217;s Word in their own language.<\/p>\n<p>Pray that God would provide Bible translators for the Kove and Anem peoples.\u00a0 They need God&#8217;s word too.<\/p>\n<p>Pray for us as we translate the portions of the Bible needed for Phase I of the chronological teaching.<\/p>\n<p>Pray for Rick as he works with our citizen partners as they write Bible Lessons in Lusi.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Recently we went almost 8 weeks without measurable rain.
