New Years and so my advice is that you should never plan on a full nights rest here in the Philippines during that time.\u00a0 It really doesn\u2019t matter where you go (except perhaps the mountain) fireworks are common &amp; abundant throughout the country.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_458\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-458\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-458\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/robert-smith\/files\/2010\/01\/Cebu-09-012-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Lechon Baboy - A Popular Christmas Dish\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-458\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Lechon Baboy - A Popular Christmas Dish<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Of course the highlight of this time is spending time with family and so with \u201cmaraming kamag-anak\u201d (a lot of relatives) here in the Philippines, we were excited to spend the holidays with many of them in Cebu.\u00a0 Christmas was celebrated with traditional pagkanin (food), the highlight of which was lechon baboy (whole roasted pig).<\/p>\n<p>On New Years eve we again enjoyed a huge feast with family in Cebu before catching the last flight of the year on Philippine Airlines back to Manila.\u00a0 We arrived in Manila just in time to see again the fabulous display of fireworks.<\/p>\n<p>We are looking forward to all that the Lord has in store for us in 2010 and already it has gotten off to a great start.\u00a0 Your prayers are greatly appreciated &amp; we are blessed by the love &amp; support you have showed us.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Praise &amp; Prayer:<\/p>\n<p>Praise the Lord for the great time we had with friends &amp; family in Cebu over the Christmas break.\u00a0 Please pray for us as we consider how best to be a blessing\u00a0to family here in the Philippines\u00a0without losing focus of our primary mission to see unreached peoples reached with the gospel.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_466\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-466\" style=\"width: 150px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-466\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/robert-smith\/files\/2010\/01\/Conference-2010-044-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"Cirena enjoying fellowship with a few of our partners from around the Philippines\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-466\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Cirena with a few of our partners from around the Philippines<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Praise the Lord for the time we had with our partners here in the Philippines at our recent field conference.\u00a0 We were refreshed with great teaching, great fellowship, and challenged for the task that we all as members of Gods church have been called to.<\/p>\n<p>We have been asked to begin praying about the possibility of joining an existing work in northern Philippines at the completion of culture\/language study and so we would ask you to join us in prayer regarding this also.\u00a0 This of course is contingent upon obtaining a capable high level of fluency within the national language &amp;
