{"id":757,"date":"2011-06-01T17:08:53","date_gmt":"2011-06-01T09:08:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/robert-smith\/?p=757"},"modified":"2011-06-04T18:56:09","modified_gmt":"2011-06-04T10:56:09","slug":"what-shall-we-do-to-reach-the-ethnos","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/robert-smith\/2011\/06\/01\/what-shall-we-do-to-reach-the-ethnos\/","title":{"rendered":"Reaching the Ethnos?"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"mceTemp\">\n<div class=\"mceTemp\">\n<div class=\"mceTemp\">\n<figure id=\"attachment_773\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-773\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-773\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/robert-smith\/files\/2011\/06\/SYMC-2011-Staff-sm-300x180.jpg\" alt=\"NTMPI SYMC 2011 - Staff\" width=\"300\" height=\"180\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/robert-smith\/files\/2011\/06\/SYMC-2011-Staff-sm-300x180.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/robert-smith\/files\/2011\/06\/SYMC-2011-Staff-sm.jpg 1000w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-773\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">NTMPI SYMC 2011 - Staff<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>What a privilege it was recently to join our NTMPI co-workers at the New Tribes School of Missions (NTSM) for their Summer Youth Missions Camp.\u00a0 Along with just one other NCLA student, we travelled to the NTSM training center in Bataan\u00a0about 3 hours NW of Manila where we joined our Filipino <em>ka misyenero<\/em> (co-missionaries)\u00a0as counsellors for the four day camp.\u00a0 With anticipation that we would somehow be a blessing and an encouragement to <em>sa mga kabataan<\/em> (Filipino Youth), it was quickly made evident that we would be equally blessed and encouraged by the passion and ferver they bring to Christendom.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-768\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/robert-smith\/files\/2011\/05\/Ethnos-5-198x300.jpg\" alt=\"Ethnos (5)\" width=\"198\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/robert-smith\/files\/2011\/05\/Ethnos-5-198x300.jpg 198w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/robert-smith\/files\/2011\/05\/Ethnos-5.jpg 477w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 198px) 100vw, 198px\" \/>Despite a\u00a0late summer\u00a0typhoon that brought more than two straight days of hard rain, our spirits were not dampened as we joined together to consider what the Lord has for each of us in regards to building His kingdom.\u00a0 The theme of this years camp in just it&#8217;s third year of existence was &#8220;ETHNOS: Isang Hamon sa Kabataan&#8221; (a challenge to the youth).\u00a0 As it were though, this was just as much of a challenge for those of us already in missions to consider where and how the Lord would continue to use us.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_775\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-775\" style=\"width: 239px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-775\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/robert-smith\/files\/2011\/06\/Ethnos-fam-239x300.jpg\" alt=\"Family time at the SYMC\" width=\"239\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/robert-smith\/files\/2011\/06\/Ethnos-fam-239x300.jpg 239w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/robert-smith\/files\/2011\/06\/Ethnos-fam.jpg 447w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 239px) 100vw, 239px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-775\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Family time at the SYMC<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<div class=\"mceTemp\">During the week we\u00a0were blessed with\u00a0great times of worship (nearly all of which was led by the youth in attendance), challenging messages and testimonies of God&#8217;s faithfulness from various speakers, and\u00a0wonderful times of fellowship.\u00a0 On day two of the missions camp we were joined by most of our fellow NCLA students which\u00a0included my wife and daughter.\u00a0\u00a0 Specifically they came to observe a cultural demonstration from Igorot believers in the northern part of the Philippines.\u00a0 Later in the afternoon we obersved two other people groups.\u00a0 It was a demonstration of believers who have gone from darkness to light.\u00a0 And yet with all the work that has already been done, there\u00a0are still many who have yet to hear.\u00a0 The challenge is great,\u00a0<em><strong>What shall we do to reach the unreached Ethnos?<\/strong><\/em><\/div>\n<div class=\"mceTemp\"><strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/div>\n<div class=\"mceTemp\"><em>Mark 16:15 &#8220;He said to them, <span style=\"color: #ff0000\"><span style=\"color: #000000\">&#8220;<\/span>Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.<span style=\"color: #000000\">&#8220;<\/span><\/span>&#8221;
