After sitting, waiting, and spinning, a decision has been made
I am in a bit of disbelief that my last post or update was two months ago. It really doesn’t seem that long ago, but I do suppose a lot has happened.
My mother has come back to her home after 72 days in either the hospital or rehab. She still has a lot of rehab work, as she cannot stand on her own yet. My father and I are her caregivers. The specialists still anticipate that she will recover, and she’s been started on some new medications that will hopefully make that recovery more likely.
Her continued need for help has solidified my ministry change for the time being. I will be serving with NTM PNG full-time remotely. With my title and job description of Offsite Administrator, most of my tasks will be related to accreditation, curriculum, data, and finance, though I may teach an upper-level science class too. My last few weeks have been focused on preparation for the upcoming school year; a schedule has come together and significant staff and parent communication has happened. I like seeing the school year come together, but I am sad about not being there in person. I know that here helping my parents is a ministry that I can’t do from overseas though. I am glad to get to both serve them and serve the church planting work.
I do not know how long this location change will be for, but I will keep you updated with news of my ministry in MK education and the bigger news of how church planting continues in PNG.
