Good Friday

March 1, 2005 by

Fun with Craig & Claire

Driving down to Manila Good Friday morning, provided many opportunities for us to be thankful that we understand what Christ did for us on the cross.  As we witnessed so many people trying to pay for their sins in various painful ways, we were reminded visually that Christ paid our debt many years ago.  What an exciting day when these dear folks will hear and understand that message also.

Seeing Craig and Claire’s smiling faces as we walked into the airport arrival area sure was wonderful!!  We are extremely thankful that they are able to be with us for the next 2 weeks!!  We have several activities planned for the next few days, but our greatest joy is just being with them again.

Their arrival time of 1:30 p.m., and very little traffic on Good Friday, were two perfect components for us to be able to drive down in the morning, turn around and come home in the afternoon – a first for us.

We were back in time for a pot luck supper here on the center.  Four families from our church in Manila had come up for the holiday.  After fellowshipping around the dinner table, we gathered around a bonfire where Rocky shared this testimony of how God brought us over here.  This was followed be a precious time of communion.

Sadness, gladness and rejoicing all had their part in this special day – all emotions the Lord uses to keep our eyes focused on Him.
