{"id":22,"date":"2005-04-01T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2005-04-01T05:00:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2007-08-05T22:43:28","modified_gmt":"2007-08-06T02:43:28","slug":"encouraging-time-with-the-isnag","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/rocky-niclasen\/2005\/04\/01\/encouraging-time-with-the-isnag\/","title":{"rendered":"Encouraging time with the Isnag"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--StartImportPhoto--><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/rocky-niclasen\/files\/2005\/04\/1274_19751.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-104\" style=\"margin-right: 10px;margin-bottom: 5px\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/rocky-niclasen\/files\/2005\/04\/1274_19751.jpg\" alt=\"Crossing the river the easy way!\" width=\"300\" \/><\/a><!--EndImportPhoto--><\/p>\n<p>Night sounds were drifting thru the green leaves on the trees that surrounded the Isnag village where we were visiting.&nbsp; It was remarkably calm and peaceful.&nbsp; We were thoroughly enjoying our time with both the missionaries and the village people.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;Earlier that morning as we were flying over numerous mountain ranges in Northern Luzon, village after village tucked away on the steep hillsides kept popping up.&nbsp; Wondering when these isolated villages would ever have the joy of understanding what Christ had done for them, caused the region around our hearts to ache.<\/p>\n<p>Soon we had landed on the jungle airstrip and were greeted by the missionary and lots of tribal smiles.&nbsp; The walk to the village was fascinating with 8 river crossings.&nbsp; Soon we were walking thru the group of houses, visiting in many of their homes.&nbsp; As we passed beneath the low doors and into the small rooms, we encountered several Isnag ladies cooking rice over their open fires, which dominated one wall of their unique houses.&nbsp; The tribal folks also came to visit us in the missionaries homes.&nbsp; Seeing the wonderful relationship between the tribal people and the missionaries was so encouraging.<\/p>\n<p>God is doing an awesome work in that area!&nbsp; Over 100 people from the village gather each week to hear God&#8217;s Word being taught.&nbsp; It was just so moving to see how they now understand that mankind is separated from God by sin, but that God also provided a way to close that separation.&nbsp; We will continue to pray for the many other secluded villages that we saw on the way in.&nbsp; Maybe someday soon, these trial believers will be able to hike the good news over to them!!!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As we were flying over numerous mountain ranges in Northern Luzon, village after village tucked away on the steep hillsides kept popping up. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":0,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_genesis_hide_title":false,"_genesis_hide_breadcrumbs":false,"_genesis_hide_singular_image":false,"_genesis_hide_footer_widgets":false,"_genesis_custom_body_class":"","_genesis_custom_post_class":"","_genesis_layout":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-22","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","entry"],"aioseo_notices":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/rocky-niclasen\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/22","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/rocky-niclasen\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/rocky-niclasen\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/rocky-niclasen\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=22"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/rocky-niclasen\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/22\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/rocky-niclasen\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=22"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/rocky-niclasen\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=22"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/rocky-niclasen\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=22"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
