\"One<\/a><\/p>\n

The sun’s position told them that they had been hiking for over 11 hours; their watches confirmed it.  Rocky and Jonathan Bamford, along with 2 Filipino tribal men were doing a survey of a new area where we would like to put missionaries. <\/p>\n

This was not an easy place to locate since there are no roads into the area, but we knew there were people living there who have never heard God’s good news for them.  Rocky and Jonathan were trying to find them to see if they were willing to have missionaries come live among them.<\/p>\n

Besides climbing up and down extremely steep cliffs, they were challenged with trying to keep leaches off as they moved along.  However at the end of the day they were rewarded with big smiles when they finally reached this remote village.  The tribal folks were very friendly, and were happy to help Rocky and Jonathan enjoy the food and coffee that they had brought along.<\/p>\n

The people they spent time with thought it was a good idea to have the white people move into their area, but before they gave permission they wanted to have a meeting where everyone in the village had a chance to give their opinion.  The 200 people living in this vicinity are scattered in 7-10 small groups with up to 10 houses in each area.<\/p>\n

Another exciting thing about this area is that there is a large flat area that would be a perfect place for an airstrip.  There are no trees that would need to be cut down – only boulders to be moved.  It seems too good to be true!<\/p>\n

Since arriving back from the survey, they received a note from the village leader saying they would love to have the missionaries come live with them.  We have 2 families who are in language study now who are interested in this area.  They would like to hike into this area soon to see it for themselves.  We are praying with them as they make this important decision. <\/p>\n
