We are on the road to Michigan

We will be traveling several hundred miles over the days ahead, with our destination New Tribes Bible Institute, in Jackson Michigan.

While we are on our trip we will have a few brief visiting opportunities. We are looking forward to re-connecting with Skiff Lake Bible church. It will be a privilege to pray and worship with these precious believers who are our home church in Michigan. As God allows, we will spend time with our brothers and sisters there telling of the great an marvelous things the Lord is doing in our lives.

We will have the chance to visit with our friends in Kentucky. They were a blessing to us and four other families this spring, allowing us to “camp-out” in their home while they were away on vacation. This time however, Leroy, Timberlee and their children will be there – we are excited to see them again.

The other purpose of our trip, the one I (Roland) am experiencing mixed emotions over, is to take RJ to NTBI. What a joy to know RJ will be able to spend two years getting to know the Lord, he will have focused time in learning to study God’s Word and be enabled to feast on its richness for himself.

As parents, Jinni and I have been preparing RJ for this day and it will be the Lord’s strength that overcomes when we leave RJ in a few days. I thank Him for His provision of that needed strength. We trust the Lord has prepared RJ for this time in his life and walk. God’s Word is our encouragement, too, as it says, ” Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.” (v3-4) Our God is mighty and our son is His to direct.
