We arrived safely and very tired from several hours of straight through driving.
The kids (minus RJ of course) were real troopers and handled the trip without air conditioning extremely well.
Our Father was merciful to us and kept the direct sunshine off our path, light clouds and some light rain most of the trip. We surely thank Him for His kindness to us.
Though we took several books with curriculum inside, they were not really scanned or used until the trip home. Their benefit was to our ride as it added some distraction from the times it was warmer in our van.
Now that we’re home, the books are ‘cracking’ open and the pencil sharpener is whirring away.
I am thrilled to be able to contribute and dedicate some time to teaching the girls and Elijah. One of my favorite parts of home education is “FIELD TRIP!”, so I will be looking for opportunities to apply what we are learning out in the workaday world. Exciting times ahead.
I am going to go through Isaiah with Elijah as part of his literature and inductive learning skills. It will be fun to see how we learn from each other using the 5 W’s and an H
Thank you for your thoughts and prayers as we get used to life without RJ.
