{"id":1151,"date":"2015-12-18T17:02:28","date_gmt":"2015-12-18T22:02:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/roland-shaferjr\/?p=1151"},"modified":"2015-12-18T17:04:53","modified_gmt":"2015-12-18T22:04:53","slug":"2015-recap-merry-christmas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/roland-shaferjr\/2015\/12\/18\/2015-recap-merry-christmas\/","title":{"rendered":"2015 Recap &#8211; Merry Christmas!"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span id=\"en-NASB-28846\" class=\"text 2Cor-3-4\"><sup class=\"versenum\"><span style=\"color: #339966;\"><span style=\"color: #003366;\">MERRY CHRISTMAS!<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/roland-shaferjr\/files\/2015\/12\/JessShot1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft  wp-image-1156\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/roland-shaferjr\/files\/2015\/12\/JessShot1-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"JessShot1\" width=\"184\" height=\"184\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<\/sup><\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\"><span id=\"en-NASB-28846\" class=\"text 2Cor-3-4\"><sup class=\"versenum\">\u00a0 &#8220;Isaiah 9:6 <span id=\"en-NASB-17836\" class=\"text Isa-9-6\">For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; <\/span><span class=\"text Isa-9-6\">And the government will rest on His shoulders;<\/span> <span class=\"text Isa-9-6\">And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, <\/span><span class=\"text Isa-9-6\">Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.<\/span>&#8221;\u00a0 We are so grateful to be <\/sup><\/span><span id=\"en-NASB-28846\" class=\"text 2Cor-3-4\"><sup class=\"versenum\">able to celebrate another Christmas, the coming of Our King and Savior!<br \/>\n<\/sup><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Roland had the privilege of continuing his IT\/Communications ministry for the NTMC campus offices and residences, as well as his role as adjunct facility for <a href=\"http:\/\/emanatetraining.ca\/\">Emanate<\/a>.\u00a0 There will always be servers, networks, phones, computers, tablets, hardware &amp; software to deal with, but his real joy is interacting with the missionary candidates.\u00a0 He taught a 12 hour Digital Security Seminar for anyone that was interested, staff included.\u00a0 At the beginning of the year he did a 30 hour orientation course for new missionaries going to the field.\u00a0 This is a particular joy, as he is able to share valuable information that will expedite the sharing of the gospel to unreached people groups.\u00a0 Some of the information that he covered was:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Renewable energy sources and how to use them<\/li>\n<li>Field water treatment<\/li>\n<li>Locating and harnessing a fresh water source<\/li>\n<li>Safety issues with propane<\/li>\n<li>Equipment to take to field<\/li>\n<li>Responsibilities to ministries in light of stewardship<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Jinni had the privilege of teaching Grade 5\/6 this year, instead of her traditional Grade 1\/2.\u00a0 The class got involved in the community Fall Agricultural Fair, and all the students won prizes! She also received training to become an Educational Therapist and finds joy in being a part of making learning easier for certain students.<\/p>\n<p>Roland and Jinni are both involved in the community and have been a part of a chronological Bible study with young adults.<\/p>\n<p>Their oldest son RJ is in his second year at Liberty University, as a theatre major.\u00a0 He performed in <em><span style=\"color: #000080;\">Twelfth Night<\/span> <\/em>this semester.<\/p>\n<p>Elijah has been volunteering on campus, and looks forward to getting a job, as soon as our permanent residency status is finalized.\u00a0 He recently performed in the local <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Hanover Community Theater<\/span> in <em><span style=\"color: #800000;\">Alice @ Wonderland.<\/span>\u00a0 <\/em>He played\u00a0the Mad Hatter.
