I Love My Role!

June 21, 2013 by Rosie Cochran

Last time I was on partnership development, my husband scheduled and spoke at the meetings. My job was to stand up when introduced, flash a nice smile, and later mingle with people. Chatting with people one-on-one fit well into my comfort zone.  I loved my role!

Fast forward a few more years than I care to admit, and God is giving me gentle shoves outside my comfort zone. I’m a writer—not a speaker—but speaking comes with the territory. It’s been a joy to share missions at so many God-given opportunities. It’s also been great to reconnect with friends and to get to make new ones! Their hugs, encouragement, prayers, and love mean the world to me. God has indeed blessed me with a great support team.

Already, I’ve had the opportunity to speak in six churches, as well as be part of a five-day Missions Conference. I have meetings scheduled for most of July, during one week in August, and I look forward (I think!) to being the speaker at a Ladies’ Retreat in late September.

A departure date? I don’t have one yet, but my heart’s desire continues to be to move into full-time ministry this fall. Will you pray with me to that end?

Though partnership development has definitely taken me out of my comfort zone, God is right there with me. And you know what? I still love my role!
