God is in the business of changing lives. He made this evident to my late husband and I as we served in a tribal village. The initial invite went something like this:
“We invite you to come because we want the medical aid and trade goods that you will bring. We want a teacher for our children—but he will only come if you come. But, when you are ready to teach, we will not listen.”
Not exactly the words new missionaries want to hear.
Not very inspiring.
And yet we went.
This region had been a stronghold against God and missions, and although they invited us for all the wrong reasons, they still invited us. And you know what? God got busy about changing lives.
More amazing than that? God let us be vessels through which His love could be displayed to these people.
Our God is still in the business of changing lives. He just wants ordinary vessels that He can work through. Are you interested?
I loved being a tribal missionary, but I’m equally excited that God is going to use me at NTM Communications. Many have asked when I’ll be making the move. As it stands, my current support level is at 36% and I’m required to reach 50% before I set a date to move into the ministry position. Thanks for praying with me to that end!
For now, my life revolves around meetings and more meetings—and lots of refreshing times reconnecting with old friends and making new ones. That’s what partnership development is about. Sharing missions. Sharing God’s heart for a lost world. And letting God touch hearts to pray, to give—or to be challenged to go!
