Winter in Florida. It means the heat actually kicks on in the house. It means I get to pull out the hoodies and sweaters. It means one of my neighbors acts like I should have a jacket on when taking a walk in the evening. I refrain from explaining that it’s really not that cold outside. It’s not anything like a New York winter. I simply love winter in Florida.
But I’m heading to the cold north for the holidays — and I’m even excited about it. No, not about the cold. Not even the snow. Green Christmases work well for me. But I have missed those sons of mine and will be pleased to spend time with them — minus the one that’s farther south than I am! And then there’s the extended family and friends to see. Yes, it’s all about people.
I love that God is all about people. You know, there would be no need of the Christmas story if it weren’t for people. God wouldn’t have needed to send His Son if it weren’t for people. But He did. He sent Jesus to save us. Because He loves us. Because He’s all about people. And that is something I love a whole lot more than Florida winters!
