Hurricane Matthew has set its sights on Florida. And tomorrow he arrives. (Or so we’re told!)<\/p>\n

I can’t say I’m excited at his coming, but at least I’m as prepared as I can be. It’s kind of in my nature. I’ve stocked up on supplies such as water, food, batteries and a hand-crank emergency radio that will also charge my phone. Even sandbags are in place.<\/p>\n

What I couldn’t have anticipated was a mild toothache last evening turning into a\u00a0major source of pain during the night. Pain meds and an ice pack didn’t touch it, prompting a 3 a.m. trip to Walmart for numbing gel. That took the edge off enough to get in a few more hours of sleep.<\/p>\n

Morning dawned early \u2014 like when the numbing gel wore off \u2014\u00a0and with it dawned the realization that unless I wanted to risk living in pain for an undetermined length of time, I needed a dentist and I needed one today \u2014 before Hurricane Matthew’s arrival.<\/p>\n

Long story short, God provided a dentist that could fit me in this morning, just like He provided all the other things I needed. Isn’t He great? I’m back home, minus one tooth, and strangely thankful it’s gone. Now I’m ready for Hurricane Matthew’s arrival\u00a0\u2014 or so I keep telling myself!<\/p>\n

Your prayers would be appreciated. Even more so for those living along the coast where the brunt of the storm will be felt.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
