Relaxed, I sat sipping on coffee and flipping through the Black Friday flyers. That&#8217;s when I noticed the water pump was running continuously. And it shouldn&#8217;t have been.<\/p>\n<p>A quick run through the house confirmed that there wasn&#8217;t a faucet left on, and that the pump really should not be running. Not a good sign. Checking a few faucets showed low water pressure that soon petered out to a drizzle and then to nothing. Definitely not a good sign.<\/p>\n<p>It was Thanksgiving.<\/p>\n<p>And I was without water.<\/p>\n<p>And it would soon become apparent that a new water system was the best course of action.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_1145\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1145\" style=\"width: 600px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1145 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/rosie-cochran\/files\/2016\/12\/IMG_2909-e1482244729955-600x620.jpg\" width=\"600\" height=\"620\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/rosie-cochran\/files\/2016\/12\/IMG_2909-e1482244729955-600x620.jpg 600w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/rosie-cochran\/files\/2016\/12\/IMG_2909-e1482244729955-290x300.jpg 290w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/rosie-cochran\/files\/2016\/12\/IMG_2909-e1482244729955-768x793.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/rosie-cochran\/files\/2016\/12\/IMG_2909-e1482244729955.jpg 1512w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-1145\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><em>From my back door to my sister&#8217;s.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>There was still much for which to be thankful.<\/p>\n<p>I was thankful that my sister was more than willing to move the Thanksgiving meal to her house.<\/p>\n<p>I was thankful that it was only a hop, skip and a jump across the backyard to my sister&#8217;s place to fill water buckets! Though, admittedly, more water made it to the house when I refrained from hopping, skipping and jumping! Plus, she has a very nice extra shower.<\/p>\n<p>I was more than thankful when, just shy of two weeks later, I had a new well, pump and pressure tank. Once again there is water properly functioning in the house!<\/p>\n<p>And right now? I&#8217;m thankful that all this happened before my parents showed up for Christmas!<\/p>\n<p>But there&#8217;s another thing I&#8217;m thankful. That&#8217;s for friends like you! Thank you for your friendship.
