How do tribal missionaries survive?

August 4, 2016 by Ryan and Chelsea Farran

Our missionaries that live in the remote jungles of Papua New Guinea have to get their food one way or another. For this family featured in the video below, it’s a three day process to get their groceries. It takes a team of people to make this happen, from the support workers that work in our store, to the aviation team, as well as someone who is willing to drive four hours on PNG horrible roads, and an hour boat ride over the open ocean. Not only that, but it takes a team of financial supporters back in the missionaries home country to make all this possible. Some may think that the “real” missionaries are the ones on the front lines preaching the Word of God, but in reality, they couldn’t do their job unless they have a huge support team behind them, including people back in the States supporting the work.
