We’ve had a very eventful last 2 months of developing our ministry partnership team! Here’s a few highlights:
-Towards end of April, we went to Fayetteville, AR for several days and Sean was able to give the sermon at the Church at Arkansas. This church has been one of our faithful partners for several years. This was Sean’s first “home church” and was mentored by the pastor, Jonathan Beasley. We were also able to catch up with friends and supporters in the area and stayed with close friends, Matt and Katherine Fritchie.
-April 28-30th-We had the BMAA National Meeting in Little Rock. The last night we, along with several other families, were elected by the Association as new missionaries. This was a huge deal to us and gives us opportunities within the association of churches to share our ministry.
-May 1-4th-We were referred by a friend to speak at a missions conference in Paducah, KY and attended the Global Outreach Celebration at Southland Baptist Temple. SBT was extremely welcoming and generous to us and we feel we made several friends while there! They also creatively met some of our needs by asking us for a wish list and surprising us by granting several requests at their Sunday evening service.
-May 5-7th-On our way back from KY we stopped in St. Louis and stayed with a friend, visited 2 other friends, and at the last minute we ended up speaking at a church! We also got to stop by the St. Louis Zoo which the boys loved! Both boys ended up getting sick with an ear infection while we there which was quickly remedied by a stop at the urgent care clinic.
-May 8-11-We visited the Missionary Training Center in Camdenton (the place we did our training at) for the weekend and had an amazing time visiting staff as well as catching up with friends who will also be going to Papua New Guinea close to the same time as us. It was relaxing and refreshing!
-June 1st-We spoke at a church in Cleveland, AR (near Morrilton) and had a fun time eating lunch with the pastor and his wife.
-June 8th-We were excited and privileged to be interviewed about what we’re doing at Cornerstone Bible Fellowship in Sherwood, the church the Jinny grew up in from birth until graduation. This church has been with us since we started our training!
We have also been attending our small groups from Cornerstone Bible Fellowship and Oasis Church, both churches in the North Little Rock/Sherwood area. Jinny grew up in Cornerstone and Oasis has been an unexpected blessing of a church that we were able to also join once we relocated to Central Arkansas. Through Oasis, the doors were opened to the BMAA and to several churches in the local area. Sean has been corresponding with those churches in the last month about opportunities to share our ministry and invite others to join what God is doing around the world through us! We’re so humbled that God would chose to use us to reach those around the world who haven’t heard about Him, so that they may have the choice to believe.
