Urgent prayer request

November 5, 2010 by Simon and Annika Flanagan

Imagine your daughter is sick and close to death, imagine you’re your family, friends and all the people in your town disown you in this crisis. They offer you no help, no words of comfort in fact they glare and gossip and threaten….

Marian is an eight or nine year old girl from this village. We are told she has meningitis and possibly TB; she is not eating or drinking, and can’t see or hear now. She is in a small government run medical clinic and is on an IV. Teli and Kariang (her parents and believers) and kids are all up at there with her, a three hour walk from our village. Marian is now being treated with medicine with little success.

Teli (her father) has stood against his family and father in particular in not going to the shaman for help. The rest of the village where she stays, have cut them off and are not giving assistance to them with food and such either. Teli and Kariang are taking a stand and are putting their faith in God.

Koni and Pagarigi, their friends and fellow believers are the only friends they have in the village now and are the only ones looking out for them. Please join in the battle and pray that God would heal Marian and beg God with us that he would honor the simple faith of Teli and his wife in turning away from their traditional beliefs and turning towards their God.

These days are crucial ones in the lives of our young believers, please pray God would strengthen them as journey through these trials.

Much love in Christ,
Simon, Annika, Nya and Noah
