Hi friends, Thanks so much for praying for us and our family. As many of you know we have been on furlough this past year or more. Our time has been extended because of Medical. First with Ethan and Judah. Ethan had infections and needed a western ER which caused us to come home a few months early. Judah developed G.I. issues at the start of furlough. It seems both of the boys developed these symptoms because of a drought we went through when we were with the Mengen church. During a drought we got all our drinking water, did all our laundry, and bathing in the local stream; so, the younger boys must have sipped on some unfiltered water when we weren’t looking. After treatment, they are both doing great.
Noah has had long-term ear trouble and has had two operations and one procedure this year. Whilst some good work was done the body rejected his stapes bone which was cleaned and put back. So, right now he doesn’t have much conductive hearing in his left ear. Please be praying for Noah. His operation to replace a bone in his ear is on the 15th of May. They will be replacing his original bone (which was taken out cleaned and put back in) which the body rejected and dissolved since his last op. They are replacing it with a titanium bone that will last for decades and maybe never need replacing. The docs believe this will pretty much restore his hearing to normal levels and has a very high success rate as an operation.
Praise God – we are thankful for the help Noah has gotten to date and that all of the infection has been successfully removed.
Pray to God – for bravery for Noah, these ops are pretty rough, and the recovery time is full of dizziness, ringing in the ear, and a good amount of pain. We are being told, that if successful we can depart for PNG in late June or early July. Pray for provision for the medical, for a speedy recovery, and for a good level of hearing so that Noah does not need any further invasive care.
Please keep praying for the Mengen church:
- Pray for Vincent, Brus, and Kamalus as they teach and look after the church.
- Pray for an open door for the gospel in Muela, Malvoni, Mile, and Pakia villages.
Thanks for your prayers, Simon, Annika, and the five.
