Wonderful to be part of such a big family.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Baby Karis Eden Flanagan. Born at 10:30pm weighing in at 7 pounds 11 or 3.4kg. She is beautiful and has thick black curly hair.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Karis did struggle breathing etc. and had to be put on a breathing tube. She needed an invasive operation also to open a valve in her heart to allow blood to mix. During the op a freak mistake happened when the lost a catheter in her left atrium. This was a scare but they got it back and completed the little op successfully. Karis stats and oxygen levels rose well and she is now stable!<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Karis continues to improve!! Today she is off her morphine and should be coming off her ventilator also. <!--more-->Today they also hope to introduce her a little milk in her stomach through a feeding tube. Tomorrow we may even get to hold her; we cant wait! Last night at midnight we got to wash her down and change a nappy\/diaper! Never felt so good to change a nappy.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Please be praying &#8211;<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">1) That Karis does well and can breathe normally when she comes off her ventilator.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">2) That the extra blood needed to digest the 1mm of milk she will get every hour will not drop her stats.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">3) Pray she will eat well and put on weight and get better as she preps for her twelve hour open heart surgery next week.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">4) Pray we get a good balance of spending time with all of our kids. We are finding this a difficult balance.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">5) We have so much to thank God for &#8211; provision of accommodation \/ Grandmothers babysitting \/ cars running well \/ Karis came through her balloon procedure \/ Gods provision through friends\/ kindness in many practical ways \/ care of the body of Christ \/ Gods sustaining grace in our lives \/ sleep \/ Annika is in good health \/ opportunities to talk of our faith \/ Nya and Noah have a school place each near our home! etc. etc.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">6) Pray for two families and nurses that we have gotten to know better; they are asking lots of questions about what we do and why on earth we do it.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">In His Grip,<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Simon, Annika, Nya, Noah and Karis<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; Hi all, Thanks again for your prayers and many notes of encouragement!
