As many of you know Simon got a piece of metal in his eye whilst doing some renovations to Laureti’s house in the jungle. After some painful visits to the hospital in town, where they tried to remove the metal with a needle, I was able to have the eye looked at by a\u00a0doctor. Daniel Moore from Carrubbers was here at our\u00a0missions station doing a translation workshop, he was able to remove some of the metal with a needle but as we weren’t able to get it all out i had to go to Aus as the risk of infection was to great. I flew to Cairns and stayed with some NTM missionaries there; the hospital was great and gave us free treatment as we are from the UK. They drilled the metal out of my eye and checked it again \u00a0two days later; i was given the all clear and was able to return. I have to say it was very strange to be in a shopping mall and see a McDonalds. My eye should be back to normal in a couple of weeks, is feeling much better and is infection free.
