Don’t worry we have deodorant!!!!!

June 14, 2015 by Stephen and Amber Clement

Our lives are pretty much the same everyday.  In the morning we study language at home with the audios and lessons that we have.  In the afternoon we have class.  Then the evenings we hang out with people.  Language, language, language…

Stephen was encouraged that he was actually helpful in a ministry to the prison even though he still can’t talk well.  We made a corn hole game and when they took it to the prison all the prisoners wanted him to make them one.

Stephen got a new nickname.  “cara de pau”   it means literally “face of wood”  but really it means something like you are not afraid to speak and you don’t get embarrassed.  Something like that. 🙂

We accidentally adopted one of the single guys here but then when we found out that he is older than both of us he adopted us.  So now when he sees us he gives us a hug and says, “meus filhos”  “my kids”.  and then he tells Stephen to respect his father.

Here is Stephen’s new Dad.

Some of the students at the training center graduated yesterday.  The power went out but the show went on!  The one full sentence that I understood from it was, “We don’t have power or water but we have deodorant and perfume.”  So now it is like their summer break except here it is technically winter.  So things will be quieter around here.

Here are the graduates.

Mom and baby are doing great!  No puking… well I did but that was the shrimps fault not the baby.  I am at 16 weeks now.

Looking forward to the day when Portuguese speaks to our hearts,
