A year and a half has passed since we arrived in Brazil. As we told you, this is the average of learning the language. We are disappointed to say that we are not done yet…but we are getting closer.
This last year has been very hard emotionally just trying to keep pushing on in our studies and always in the back of our minds wondering, “Are we even going to make it?”
The future is so uncertain. We would like to spend Christmas with family but we can not leave until we have finished learning Portuguese. Also, there is a big mission conference in January and we are thinking it may be better planning to stay here for the conference so we can talk to the leadership about where we would be going and possible coworkers, then go to the States for about 3 months. When we return we would move into a tribe.
So we have some big decisions coming up but really the hardest decisions right now are just the little ones that get us one step closer to our goal like: get out of bed early, sit down and study, go talk to the neighbor, write a story…
Isaque is not so well right now. He is grumpy with diarrhea, doesn’t want to eat, and wants to sleep a lot but has trouble doing so. I am hoping it is just teeth coming in.
Isaque would get better
We would have the dedication and strength to keep making the right “little” decisions
We would have the wisdom to make the right “big” decisions
Thank you for your prayers,
Stephen, Amber, and Isaque Clement
