I was recently reading a book in it stated that Michael Phelps had a 6000 calorie diet. “That is not faire” I thought to myself “I am trying to keep myself to a 2000 calorie diet some people have it all”. Little did I know that was just his breakfast. His real diet was an astonishing 12000 calorie. That is over twice as much food as my whole family eats. how does this man not way 12,000 pounds??? There is a simple answer to this problem calories in calories out. He eats that much because that is what he uses. If I wanted to eat that much all I need to do is work out for 8 hours every day. If Michael ate like me there would be no way he would have all those medals.
Spiritually we fell like Michael Phelps. 4 years we began to swim freestyle in the christen faith Olympics. The difference was our diet. We definitely had our Spiritual 12,000 calories with our Bible training witch was grate for that first year… after that we began to get tired. Our 2nd year that we were in Brazil was undoubtedly the hardest year of my life. We had our fare share of problems most of them had to do with sin. Many problems where “normal” issues in marriage and life, then God gave me the ultimate refining tool “Kids”. These weren’t trials of astronomical proportion they were difficulties that we all face. So why was it so hard? We had a 12,000 calorie workout on a 2,000 calorie diet. There was no support by others. There were brothers and sisters in Christ that wonted to help but we could not encourage each other because of the langue. Years 3 and 4 were better because we started having fellowship with others. The work out was the same, but with an increase to 6,000 calorie diet. Better but the exhaustion was setting in.
In summary we have been giving and giving and giving and giving and giving with very little encouragement. Time for that 12,000 calorie diet so we can sever another 4 years.
PS we are being encourage here.
I’m sorry I haven’t written more. I know it is discouraging when you don’t hear from people. I will try to do better. We are very proud of you and your family and we pray for you and really love you.
