Hand-sized Scorpion in our Laundry Area<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

I was awakened in the middle of the night by the feeling of a bug crawling on my hand.\u00a0 I quickly shook it off, and then realized I had only succeeded in shaking it off into the bed.\u00a0 Not knowing where it had gone, and uncertain what kind of bug it was, I woke my husband to have him turn on the light.\u00a0 He uncomprehendingly turned on the light, and numbly joined me in searching the bed for the mysterious bug, but we didn\u2019t find anything.\u00a0 So, he turned off the light again, rolled over, and promptly went back to sleep.\u00a0 I however, lay back down, with no possibility of sleep entering my mind.\u00a0 Instead, thoughts of all the bugs that it could be filled my head.\u00a0 We have numerous creepy-crawlies which I have seen in various places in our house, including the bee that my husband stepped on when he was getting out of bed on another morning.\u00a0 The only comfort to my bug-filled mind was the hope that maybe it was a cockroach.\u00a0 While I detest cockroaches, and any other bug, at least I would not fear being stung or bitten by a cockroach.\u00a0 Of course, a cockroach could bite, but it most likely would have the sense to run away and stay away.<\/p>\n

All of this reflection in the middle of the night caused me to be thankful.\u00a0 Over the years we have lived in this village, we have seen countless spiders, centipedes, scorpions, and snakes.\u00a0 We have had much potential to be harmed by these creatures.\u00a0 Yet, the Lord has been gracious to keep us safe, and enable us to see<\/em> each of these creatures in time to prevent our being harmed.\u00a0 So, while we pause to thank the Lord for His many blessings, His protection is included on my list.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
