{"id":13,"date":"2007-10-19T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2007-10-19T04:00:00","guid":{"rendered":""},"modified":"2007-10-19T01:38:48","modified_gmt":"2007-10-19T05:38:48","slug":"sunday-school","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/stephen-jordan\/2007\/10\/19\/sunday-school\/","title":{"rendered":"Sunday School"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><!--StartImportPhoto--><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/stephen-jordan\/files\/2007\/10\/1242_25480.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-104\" style=\"margin-right: 10px;margin-bottom: 5px\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.ethnos360.org\/stephen-jordan\/files\/2007\/10\/1242_25480.jpg\" alt=\"Rebekah and her Sunday School class\" width=\"300\" \/><\/a><!--EndImportPhoto--><\/p>\n<p>&quot;I&#8217;m going to have a Sunday School for my friends,&quot; Rebekah declared one day.&nbsp; We had been reading a missionary story about a little girl who shared her faith with her friends.&nbsp; Rebekah decided that she wanted to do that too.&nbsp; This is more difficult for Rebekah than the girl in the story, because Rebekah doesnm&#8217;t speak very much of the Agutaynen language.&nbsp; She knows some nouns, and a couple verbs, but certainly not enough to teach a whole Bible lesson.&nbsp; She was unfazed by this obstacle though, and determined to teach her class in English.&nbsp; The children in the village are taught some English in school, so they would have a limited understanding.&nbsp; Sunday afternoon came, the day set by Rebekah for her class.&nbsp; The children came early, and were ready to start nearly an hour before the prescribed time.&nbsp; Rebekah taught the lesson of Creation to her class of about nine mostly attentive children.&nbsp; She taught them a Bible verse, Genesis 1:1, and gave them a picture to color.&nbsp; For her first time teaching, she did a great job.&nbsp; Like Rebekah, we too can hardly wait to be able to teach our Agutaynen friends about Jesus!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Many times each week, we are telling our children that they need to shine as lights for Jesus.
