Typhoon Glenda<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Last Wednesday morning the winds were blowing and the rain was pounding as Typhoon Glenda made its presence known here in Manila.\u00a0 We had just arrived hours before to Manila to await the arrival of Ginger\u2019s brother, David, and his family.\u00a0 Trees were falling, the power went out and we lost internet connection.\u00a0 And on top of that, flights were being cancelled.\u00a0 Thankfully the storm passed and a few hours later David and his family safely arrived.<\/p>\n

Cousins Together<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

This was a joyous reunion as we haven\u2019t seen them for over 11 years.\u00a0 For our two boys, this was the very first time they met their cousins.\u00a0 As David and his family were only to be in the Philippines for four days, we decided just to stay in Manila during their visit.\u00a0 On Friday, we went to Taal Volcano and hiked up to the rim.\u00a0 While the adults hiked the steep path, most of the kids enjoyed the journey on horseback.\u00a0 Along the path were several \u201cvents\u201d where hot, sulfuric air was coming out.\u00a0 This was fun to experience together with them.\u00a0 The rest of our time together was spent in just having fun and being together.\u00a0 However, this wonderful time together came to an end a few hours ago.\u00a0 We truly feel blessed of the Lord to have had this rare opportunity to be together.<\/p>\n
