home and realize she forgot something. No problem, just start another shopping list for next week.

In a similar way, Ginger also has her shopping list . . . for Manila. This shopping list she started about two months ago and it consisted of items we couldn’t find on our island. Over the weeks, several items were added to the list, things like: lemon juice, chocolate chips, birthday present for Luke and so on. Last week, our family flew to Manila. In case the word “flew”, didn’t sink in yet, let me expound slightly on what it takes to go shopping in Manila. We only need to drive three hours to the capital city of our island and then take a 1¼ hour commercial flight to Manila. Our purpose for going to Manila was to apply for visas, but this was also our opportunity to shop. After a few days of running from one store to another in Manila, most items were checked off our list. It’s kind of like a big treasure hunt. A few things however, we couldn’t find and will probably ask Grandma Watters to look for in the States. Or we will just add it to the next shopping list, which will grow from now until we return to Manila in April.

Many moms have a list in their kitchen for their next shopping trip,
