Agutaynen Baby<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

This Thursday morning we awoke with the news that our Agutaynen neighbor gave birth to a son.\u00a0 At 6am, the village midwife was at our gate and excitedly shared with us all the details of the event that took place just a few hours before.\u00a0 If you don\u2019t mind, we won\u2019t share all those details with you.\u00a0 However, when she finished her story, she said, \u201cThank the Lord, it\u2019s not Good Friday yet\u201d.\u00a0 Once again, in the midst of joy and celebration there is fear.\u00a0 In those few words, the midwife was telling us that it is bad luck to be born on the day Jesus dies.\u00a0 Once again, our hearts break for this woman and all the other Agutaynens who still live in the darkness.\u00a0 Among the Agutaynens, no other day of the year is so feared as Good Friday.\u00a0 They know about Jesus\u2019 death, but they don\u2019t know Him.\u00a0 Only the Truth can set them free from the darkness they live in.<\/p>\n
