Planes over the Parade<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Every year, we see the words \u201cMemorial Day\u201d on our calendar, but in the Philippines there are no parades going down the dirt road, no war planes flying overhead, no American flags waving in the wind.\u00a0 Unfortunately, the day comes and goes with just a mentioning of it and a prayer.\u00a0 However, yesterday was different.\u00a0 Yesterday, was \u201cthe best day so far\u201d, according to Jonathan.\u00a0 We started Memorial Day with a local parade, led by local veterans and soldiers.\u00a0 Vintage cars and fire trucks were adorned with American flags.\u00a0 War planes crisscrossed the sky.\u00a0 We all greatly enjoyed the parade.<\/p>\n

And then we rushed down the road to a memorial park where our local Congressman was sharing with a crowd.\u00a0 The ceremony ended with a young lady singing \u201cGod Bless America\u201d.\u00a0 We then briefly spoke with Congressman and at the end he said to us, \u201cThank you for your service to God\u201d.\u00a0 We continued the day with family members coming over to our house and enjoying the afternoon together.\u00a0 Truly we are not only blessed to be Americans, we are glad to be Americans.\u00a0 We hope you all had a great day also.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
