weeks and as she sat there, several thoughts have been going through her head: “Will the curves in my spine be worse?”, “Will the doctor make me get a new brace or even a day brace?”, “What will the doctor say?”. All those thoughts were about to be answered very soon. We sat in the room waiting and waiting and then there was a knock on the door and the doctor entered the room. After a minute or two of looking at Abigail’s x-rays, the doctor said, “As of tonight, you no longer need to wear your brace!” Praise the Lord! All of Abigail’s concerns were gone and the best news she could ever hope for was given. The doctor told us that not only did her curves not increase (get worse) over the last two years, the curves have decreased because of wearing the brace every night. We are so excited. She can now say, “Brace me no longer!”

<figure doesn’t have to wear the brace ever again, she will begin therapy this week for a month. Over the course of the month, Abigail will need to learn new exercises to keep her back strong. Thank you for prayers over the years for Abigail and we ask you to keep on praying that she will do her exercises faithfully as a “Thank you” to God.

Now, all this news only leaves us with one question: “What do we do with Abigail’s brace”? So far, we have thought of a few options:

Run it over with a car.

Attach it to a 4th of July firework and watch it explode.

Throw it off the deck.

Keep it for memory sake.

What is your suggestion?

Along with this good news about Abigail, this past week we have had the joy of watching Rebekah participate in a high school graduation ceremony and hosting a graduation open house for her. Both of these events celebrate her hard work and the accomplishment of finishing high school. She is “no longer in high school.” As parents, we are so excited for her and look forward to seeing how she lives her life for Christ. Please pray for her, and us, as she prepares for college. This is a new step of faith for all of us in so many ways. Congratulations Rebekah!

<img
