the last couple of weeks, we have checked off, or maybe we can say “cut” off, a few more things from our “to-do” list prior to returning to the Philippines. One of the things Ginger and the girls do each time we are in the States is donate their hair to an organization called Wigs for Kids. Because of their donation of hair, the hair salon cuts their hair for free. Rebekah and Abigail both donated soon after we returned to the States this time, but Ginger wasn’t quite ready. However, last week, Ginger was ready to get her hair cut. And not only Ginger, but Abigail too. Abigail decided to donate her hair again, setting a new personal record – she donated 24 inches within eight months! Upon arrival at the hair salon, Ginger stated what they were there for, as they have done before. However, this time Ginger was told that Wigs for Kids would not accept her hair. Why? She was told that Wigs for Kids doesn’t accept grey hair. Ginger responded by saying, “I guess that means I’m not a kid anymore”. Abigail still had her hair cut for free. Ginger also had her hair cut but sent it to Locks of Love instead. Apparently, they will take grey hair. For the first time in many years, Ginger had to pay for her hair cut. It’s okay, it’s still for a good cause, and they both got their hair cut. They walked out of the hair saloon with Ginger feeling a little bit older, and both of them feeling light-headed.

<img loading="lazy" decoding="async"
