As we return to the Philippines, we make the transition back to village life one step at a time.<\/p>\n

Step #1: \u00a0Manila.<\/u>\u00a0 Upon our arrival back to the Philippines, we spent four days in Manila, the capital city of the Philippines.\u00a0 During this brief time, we spent time shopping for items that we can\u2019t usually find on our island.\u00a0 This usually means long rides in taxis through the Manila traffic.<\/p>\n

Luke, after three days of painting.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Step #2: \u00a0Trip to the village.<\/u>\u00a0 After a one-hour commercial flight, our family arrived back to Puerto.\u00a0 A few days later, Stephen, Abigail, and Luke made the three-hour road trip to the village.\u00a0 During their four-day visit, they attended church with the believers and painted their rooms.\u00a0 Moving back to the Philippines is hard for the kids as they said good-bye to their friends in the States.\u00a0 However, we promised them that upon our return to the Philippines they could repaint their rooms.\u00a0 This promise gave them something to look forward to.<\/p>\n

Abigail chose to go with a light brown with a dark green trim.\u00a0 The boys decided to paint their room with a dark blue with yellow trim (for University of Michigan) and with orange trim (for Detroit Tigers).\u00a0 As promised, Stephen also painted the team logos on the doors.<\/p>\n

Thank you for your prayers as we have taken these steps.\u00a0 Within a few days, we will post another update concerning the other steps we are making toward moving back into the village.<\/p>\n
