Nine days ago, our family arrived to Palawan.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Have a fun flight!”<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

We have been busy purchasing household supplies which are to last for the next three months in the village.\u00a0 Not even a grain of salt was in our house.\u00a0 So, we have been purchasing everything from A to Z, literally.\u00a0 \u201cA\u201d for AA Batteries, All Spice, All-Purpose Flour and \u201cZ\u201d for the local brand of Ziplocks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In between each shopping spree, Stephen and the boys have made three road trips into the village and back to the city.\u00a0 Each trip is about a five-hour drive round-trip.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stephen was the only vehicle on this stretch of a six lane highway!<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

They have taken in our supplies, both for our home and for Sports Bible Camp.\u00a0 Also, Stephen has checked over the house to see what damage was caused from the typhoon last December that still needs to be taken care of and to check to see if we have internet (which we no longer have).\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our shelves are being filled for the next 12 weeks in the village.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Thankfully, the damage is minimal and primarily outside of the house: gutters need to be fixed, water tank needs minor repairs, basketball posts and backboard need to be removed and several fallen trees still need to be taken care of.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thankfully, prior to our return to the States, we boarded up the windows.\u00a0 This probably prevented damage and debris within the house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2021, we boarded up our windows and wrote messages for us to see upon our return in 2022.<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n

During the second trip, Stephen and Jonathan attended church with the believers in the village.\u00a0 The believers appear to be doing well and we are excited to see some new faces at church.\u00a0 With Sports Bible Camp just three weeks away, the believers are excited to have this event once again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Also, during these three trips, Stephen and the boys have enjoyed seeing Darryl and Becky (Stephen\u2019s parents).  They just moved back into the village about two weeks ago.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lord willing, we will now move back into the village and unpack our household belongings within the next 48 hours.\u00a0 Much needs to be accomplished in a few days as Ginger plans to start school with Luke and Jonathan on July 5th<\/sup>.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
