In March of 2020, all the students in the Philippines were sent home because of the Covid mandates.\u00a0 And that is where they have been for 2-\u00bd years . . . at home!\u00a0 During that time, the students either had to go online to continue their education or parents, like those in our village, had to go to the school building once a week to pick up lessons for the students to do at home.\u00a0 Now finally a few weeks ago, the public schools in the Philippines have been reopened and students have been allowed to return to classes!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n

In celebration of this, we decided to host a Teacher Appreciation Day at the church this past Sunday with a desire to say \u201cthank you\u201d to these teachers who have endured these past couple of years.\u00a0 But ultimately, we wanted to share the Gospel message with them. \u00a0There is a high school and college in a nearby town, but the only school in the village is the elementary school.\u00a0 The Lord blessed this service with all the teachers of the elementary school in attendance, along with a dozen college students who are currently studying to become teachers.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n

During this service, the children of Kids\u2019 Bible Club sang a song and shared some coloring pictures with their teachers. \u00a0And Boboy, a church leader, shared a message entitled \u201cJesus the Greatest Teacher of All.\u201d\u00a0 Not only is Jesus the Truth (John 14:6), but He also taught the true way to obtain everlasting life (John 6:47).\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n
